Hello,
We have a couple of questions on visiting the Cinque Terre:
1) leave rental car at one end and pick it up (or get a ride back)at the other end ?
2) what would be a 'ball park' estimate to stay one night at each of the five villages while walking? (total, but in beds ,two people not on the floor !)
3) We're thinking of either May or September
Grazie !

Hello Pablo,
And thank you for contacting us. I will try to answer your questions in turn :
1)leave rental car at one end and pick it up (or get a ride back)at the other end ?By far the most convenient way to travel between the five villages in the Cinque Terre is by train. As you suggest you can park your rental car at the first village i.e. Riomaggiore or Monterosso and at the end of your stay take the train back to pick up the car.
The train journey between the villages is very short and varies as follows:
Riomaggiore to Manarola - 2 mins
Manarola to Corniglia - 4 mins
Corniglia to Vernazza - 5 mins
Vernazza to Monterosso - 5 mins
For more details and information on travelling to and around the villages I suggest you review
our dedicated Cinque Terre Travel section. 2) what would be a 'ball park' estimate to stay one night at each of the five villages while walking? (total, but in beds ,two people not on the floor !) I would suggest that you take a look at
our Cinque Terre accommodation section and review/select your lodgings, check availability as you see fit.
In general, you might find it is much easier to secure availability if you stay in one place for longer (i.e. all five days in one accommodation) rather than opt to stay one day in each village.
I hope this helps and best regards,
Gianfranco
