We often get asked - 'What is the best time to visit Portofino ?' - and the answer is pretty much anytime ! The weather is generally mild and sunny with small temperature variations favoured by the mountains that shelter from the northern winds making every season ideal for coming here.

During the summer months of July and August when a majority of the annual Portofino events and festivals take place, the area is buzzing with tourists. These are the hottest months with temperatures reaching upto 37°C degrees and a lot more humidity in the air. However, there are often cool breezes coming from the Mediterranean sea and most visitors find that the days are relatively pleasant.

You might find travelling to Portofino in the spring period between April to June and autumn months of September and October where the temperature will be cooler around 20 to 30°C degrees and with less humidity during the day, to be the best time to become better acquainted with this area.

Winter is also a pleasant time to visit the area. Temperatures get cooler but almost never drop below freezing. It would still be too cool to lie on the beach but Portofino offers lots of beautiful spots to sit down, be treated to great views and catch the winter rays...
