For those who love to scuba dive, you will find ample opportunity in the clear blue waters of this beautiful part of the Ligurian coast. Scuba diving is quite popular here with lots of surprises hidden in Levanto’s sea depths – there are a number of ships wrecks to discover especially some sunk during the World War II.
If you want to snorkel, you will discover this is a fantastic place to go snorkelling. If you have not brought your diving gear, do not worry as at Levanto you will find many diving centers and shops , which will allow you to rent all the equipment you need as well as organize dive tours, along with expert guides.
In addition to diving, sea lovers can enjoy surfing, sail boarding and bodyboarding. This stretch of coastline is blessed with sustained winds which makes the sea conditions ideal for these activities and has made it famous amongst surf enthusiasts. This is a water wonderland with all the water activities you can imagine.

Landlubbers need not worry. This town has it all. The surrounding territory of Levanto offers about 50 miles (70 kilometres) of hiking trails. You can hike the coastal paths offering stunning views leading to the famous Cinque Terre villages as well as the vast network of trails that connect the surrounding 18 hillside villages with each other and the valley.

For the lovers of cycling, you can rent bikes and ride through the town or enjoy the mountain bike trails in the National Park. Levanto and the Cinque Terre are the ideal place to make excursions in the midst of nature while enjoying some stunning views overlooking the sea. As with the hiking trails , there are cycling routes with varying degree of difficulty able to satisfy lovers of 'off-road’ of all levels and making for an unforgettable experience.
Do not forget to stop and enjoy a relaxing lunch or dinner in many of the small surrounding villages on the way too. This is life at its best. The outdoors are phenomenal here and you can enjoy it any way you like.
