Lerici parking and traffic restrictions differ between the low and high seasons as well as weekdays and weekends so it pays off to know how they work.
In the high season between the period of June 15th to September 15th, the urban centre of Lerici becomes a restricted area allowing a drive through only between the hours of 12:00pm to 9:00am the following day. You will require a residential pass in order to drive through and park in the area. If you do not have a Pass, you may park your vehicle in the meter parking at "Vallata" and "Bagnara" (outside of the urban center of Lerici and San Terenzo).
Motorcycle and bike riders are allowed freely and the parking for them is marked by the parking spaces with the horizontal road markings.
In the low season between the period of September 16th to June 14th, traffic in Lerici is only restricted on Weekends and Holidays allowing a drive through town between the hours of 7:00pm to 7:00am the next day. During this time there are paying meter parking spots at "Vallata" (being closest to Lerici town center), "Campetto" and "Bagnara", along with a FREE BUS service (from 10:30am to 7pm approx. every 12 minutes). For further details on the parkings locations, please see Lerici's interactive map below. The parking pricing varies between the area and time of the year, see here for more details .
This means that during the weekdays you can freely drive through Lerici and park at the Venera Azzura parking area (seafront) while the parking spots at "Vallata" and "Bagnara” are free of charge (from Jan 10th to Apr 30th). Motorcycle and bike riders also have free access.
For further details on the rules and workings of the traffic and parking plan, you may consult the "traffic plan" section of the Lerici Township or contact the Police Precinct at 0187-967326 or the Traffic Office at 0187-960309.
