Lerici La Serra Lerici Hiking Trail

You can start the Lerici La Serra Lerici Hiking Trail from Piazza Garibaldi in Lerici, and up the "Carpaneta"(Via A.Doria). You'll pass in front of the Villa where
Andrea Doria stayed, and reach the provincial road for Tellaro.

Cross the road and continue up on the easy trail until you reach La Serra. Once in La Serra you cannot but stop and admire the spectacular panoramic views over the eastern part of the Gulf of La Spezia.

While you are walking through this network of ancient trails you will encounter the remains (stone constructions called "cavanei" ) of the megalithic civilization which are very similar to the Sardinian nuraghis.

From La Serra you can descend along the provincial road till you reach Barcola and, from there take the trail on via Canata, and re-enter comfortably on the sea's promenade, near the gardens in Lerici.
