Via Aurelia offers a stunning approach the town of Deiva Marina. It takes you on a gradual journey on a winding road coming down towards the sea. The road is characterised by a series of sharp bends making you go slowly while basking in the spectacular snapshots that get revealed over the whole valley until you finally find yourself close to the sea.
You can also approach Deiva Marina following the coastal road that connects the town to Moneglia, through the old railway tunnel. It offers another interesting journey, where traffic through the tunnel alternates in each direction every 15 mins or so. It takes you on a route through the dark shadows of the tunnel while occasionally affording stunning images of glaring light and the blue of the Mediterranean Sea.
