The most flamboyant of all the Italian Carnivals, famous for its political satire will hosts the traditional shows of gigantic paper-mache figures on colourful floats on : February 3-10-12-17, and a grand finale on March 3rd.
Other events include: big parties, sports events, theatre shows, food stalls etc.

Cento Carnevale d'Europa is the first carnival in the world to be affiliated with the Rio Carnival, twinning officially in Cento in 1993.
Cento is a town near Ferrara in Emilia-Romagna and every Sunday between February 10th to 24th, 2013 it will host many famous guest stars from the world of culture, sport, entertainment as well as beautiful floats in papier-mache and lots of fun. The grand finale of the carnival is on March 3rd where are awarding the costume winner for the Carnival there will be a spectacular piromusical number arranged by Parente Fireworks.

From 2nd to 31st March, the Cinque Terre welcomes the “Maritime Walking Festival” and presents a full calendar of 13 themed hiking excursions you can join throughout the month.
During every weekend in March, hikers will be spoilt for choice with excursions combining nature, culture, food and wine, which are accompanied by experienced environmental guides.

Three days entirely dedicated to the Ligurian agricultural and food productions, framed by the 14th century Monumental Complex of Santa Caterina and of the historic centre of Finalborgo.
It is a wide exhibition area, which hosts over 250 exhibitors and 30 collateral events, such as educational meetings, laboratories, seminars and conventions, tasting, cookery and floral arrangements courses.

For three days La Spezia celebrates its patron San Giuseppe with a fun-filled Fair in town, a tradition which dates back to 1653. In ancient times, the Fair actually lasted 5 days when merchants came to town to sell all kinds of goods but especially food.
Nowadays the Fair, which continues to take place on March 19th, attracts hundreds of visitors from all provinces of Italy and beyond. The stalls, which are set at the Public Gardens, the nearby streets and along the seafront promenade, will be open from 8.00am to 8.00pm and sell all kinds of goods - from local food specialities to toys and colorful garmets.
On the night of Saturday, March 16th will take place 'La notte Bianca di San Giuseppe' with a programme including shows in the squares and theaters around town and the free entries to museums.
Genoa welcomes the Fiera Primavera (Spring Fair) from Friday 15th to Sunday 24th March: this is an exhibition dedicated to gifts, home and leisure (entrance is free) which takes place in the Fiera del Mare exhibition area.
The Cake Away and “Cake Design & Sugar Art” events, taking place in the five days from the 20th to the 24th, are dedicated to cake design lovers and will be full of creativity, passion and fantasy.

XI Edition of L'Erba Persa will take place during the Easter long weekend, from Saturday 30th March to Monday 1st April in the Villa Durazzo park in Santa Margherita.
Many exhibitors from different regions will be present: farmers, producers of garden equipment, herbal products, Marseille lavender, natural beauty products and also publishing houses.
