Types of Cards

There are two different types of cards available :

  • Cinque Terre Card :
giving you access to the hiking trails only (available for 1 or 2 days)

  • Cinque Terre Card Treno (Train) :
giving you access to the hiking trails together with unlimited train travel on the Levanto - La Spezia Centrale - Levanto line for the period stated on the user’s card (available for 1 or 2 days)

But this is not all, each Card also gives you:

  • Use of ecological Park buses and public elevators

  • Access to the hiking trail n° 2 (which includes the Via dell'Amore), the naturalistic observation centres and recreation areas

There used to be a Cinque Terre Card Battello (Ferry) which was allowing for unlimited ferry travel within the Marine Protected Area of the Cinque Terre and access to the hiking trails together with unlimited train travel on the Levanto - La Spezia Centrale - Levanto line for 1 day only. Unfortunately, this card is now discountinued.

Where to Buy

You can purchase Cards at any train station in the Cinque Terre , as well as at La Spezia Centrale train station and Levanto train station. They can also be purchased at the checkpoints on the hiking trails in the Cinque Terre .

At most train stations , there is a separate information/ticket office dedicated to the sale of Cinque Terre cards and providing tourist information for the Cinque Terre . For example at La Spezia Central station, the Cinque Terre Ticket office is located on platform 1. There is no need for you to queue to buy your CT ticket in the main hall as they are not authorised to sell it. So when you enter a train station, look out for signs directing you to the local CInque Terre ticket office.

Card Validation: a Must

When you first purchase your Card make sure to fill out your name and nationality, as this will be checked at the checkpoints on the hiking trails. Also make sure to validate your Cinque Terre Card at a checkpoint or a train station. You only need to validate it on the day you buy it. To validate your Cinque Terre Train Card place it into the yellow box by the train platform. The ticket will be stamped with a station name, time and date or sometimes just punctured.
