Our Camogli Events and Festivals section brings to you the local must-see festivities throughout the year in this area of Liguria...
For many years now Camogli organises a festival closely connected to the romantic celebration. The highlight of the event is the plate painting competition called ‘Piatto di San Valentino…Innamorati a Camogli’ where the public vote combined with the vote from a jury panel select the most beautiful of all the entries of pained plates displayed along the seafront in Camogli.
The plates that took part in earlier editions of the festival can be bought from a stand near the seafront as well as hearts on which you can write your and your partner’s name and hang them on a fishing net laid out in the harbour.
During the festival many of the local restaurants offer special dinner-for-two menu including a bottle of Champagne and special dish to mark the occasion.

The Sagra del Pesce ( Fish Festival) in Camogli has become one of the most anticipated event in town over the years.
The festival has a long tradition – it was first held in 1952 to celebrate the patron saint of fishermen , San Fortunato, by doing a mega fish fry and has been held every second Sunday in May in Piazza Colombo since then.

San Rocco di Camogli has been hosting the Sagra della Capponadda Festival since 2002.
Capponadda is a local speciality dish based on fish and a very hard biscuit called 'galletta del marinaio'. These biscuits are so hard that they cannot be eaten without first being soften by spraying them with water.
Next they are broken into pieces and mixed with capers, tuna, salted anchovies, olives and fresh tomatoes cut into small pieces. All the ingredients are then mixed together in a kind of a salad that is dressed with olive oil, salt and oregano.
Throughout the month of July you can enjoy the music events organised under the Rassegna Jazz Golfo Paradiso Festival.
A moving ceremony is held on the beach of San Fruttuoso on the last Sunday in July each year when a torchlight mass is held to commemorate all those who have lost their lives at sea, with divers placing crowns of flowers at the foot of the underwater Christ statue.
Throughout the months of July and August you can enjoy the classical music concerts organised under the Estate in Musica Events.
The Abbey of San Fruttuoso is such a special place and throughout the months of July and August you can enjoy music concerts held on its grounds.
In the evening on the first Sunday in August, the waters of Camogli get lit by thousands floating candles in honour Stella Maris - the Madonna star of the sea.
