The beaches in Lerici Municipality, Gulf of Poets have so much to offer everyone... from hard to reach secluded pebbly beaches to wide sandy beaches to fully equipped beach clubs catering to your every whim.
For those beach lovers looking for the silence of an isolated beach stretch of coastline, we recommend you head out from Lerici towards Tellaro, all the way up to Bocca di Magra. Here the coastline is rich not only in breathtaking nature walks but in variety of pristine sandy and pebbly beaches.
While places like Punta Bianca, Punta Corvo and the lonely beach Zezzigiola are renowned throughout Italy for their real beauty.
What is true for all of them though is that you cannot but enjoy their beautiful clear waters and the surrounding magical nature as testified by the Blue Flags awarded to the beaches in Lerici by the FEE Italy.
So which one is our favourite? ... Such a hard task to name a single one from so many perfect, yet different, beaches in Lerici...
Right across Piazza Brusacà in San Terenzo, just underneath the San Terenzo Castle stretching to the east is the main beach of San Terenzo.
It goes right along the promenade of San Terenzo and is made up of a "free" section as well as a section which is free but also equipped. Here you can rent deckchairs, beds, beach umbrellas, canoes and little rowboats, while the children can easily be entertained in the play area built on the beach for them.

There are lots of bars and restaurants along the town’s promenade, so you will not be short of choice for refreshments and food. Bar Torino also has a few tables on the beach -- you can relax in the shade, and have your meal there while taking in the bustle of the beach and the views of the Bay of Lerici.
And no trip to the beach can be complete without the taste of some ice-cream. We get our daily fix of Italian ice-cream from our favourite ice-cream shop in San Terenzo called “ La Rana Golosa” , right at the corner of Piazza Brusacà beneath the Castle.
Beneath the walls of the San Terenzo Castle and towards the west, there lies a very evocative promenade, which also supports the fortress and leads to a little beach called " La Marinella " with crystal clear water.
This small beach is perhaps less equipped as compared to the mean beach in San Terenzo but nevertheless more charming.

The beach is free and just minutes from the center of the village. You can often see people taking a stroll on the promenade, taking the sun or simply relaxing on some of the dotted benches.
It is protected by the surrounding cliffs making it ideal for taking the sun even on a warm day in early spring. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view over the Bay of Lerici.
There is a small bar in the cliffs just behind the beach for getting some refreshments as well. The bar is also a great spot to take your afternoon aperitivo while enjoying the setting sun over the Bay of Lerici.

Walking through the tunnel underneath the Castle of Lerici will lead you to a magical bay behind the Castle marked with outstanding natural beauty.
There were once three beaches here that were used mainly by locals. Only two of them remain today while the third one has all but disappeared.
They are relatively tiny but very charming and sheltered by the cliffs - ideal to spend your first days at sea after the winter. This also means that they can get quite hot in the height of summer.

There are steep trails connecting the country around the village of Montemarcello to the picturesque and secluded beaches of Punta Corvo (more easily accessible via a boat service leaving from Bocca di Magra and Fiumaretta).
Around
11 secluded beaches are dotted around the coastline in the area
The small beaches are scattered along the harsh coast between village of Montemarcello and the town of Lerici and originated from landslides that were later shaped by the sea.
The
beaches are famous for their tranquility and clear water
The beach of Punta Corvo is also called "spiaggione" (big beach) as it is the biggest of them all; its sand is dark grey since it originated from the surrounding stones of the same color. The water is so clear that the rocky sea bottom can be seen at a few meters from the shore.
