The main airport serving Liguria is the Cristoforo Colombo International airport in Genoa . It offers regular connecting flights to the UK and other main European cities as well as the rest of the main Italian airports. It is also very convenient as it is quite central to town - 6 kilometres from the town centre of Genoa.

There is a convenient, fast and punctual hourly bus service, every day of the week, connecting the Airport with the city centre and railway stations. From early morning to late in the evening, the Volabus service will connect you from Stazione Principe F.S. to Cristoforo Colombo International Airport in approximately 20 minutes.
You can purchase your 24 Hour Volabus Ticket (Biglietto 24 ore e Volabus) which costs €6 (as of Oct 2012) on board the bus, at all Amt Genoa ticket offices, kiosks, automated ticket machines and at the train stations. The Volabus buses are air-conditioned and have special baggage areas.

The Genoa airport has direct links to the local road and national motorway systems for quick connections to both French and Liguria Rivieras, Piedmont, Lombardy and the tunnels through the Alps.
From the Genoa-airport, you will find that Nice is 210 km, Sanremo 140 km, La Spezia 105 km and Florence 225 km. The motorway access road conveniently begins at the roundabout inside the airport perimeter.
For those of you looking to grab a taxi into town, you will find them outside the arrivals terminal. You can check the official taxi price list here .

If your holiday destination is on the Eastern Liguria Riviera or the Cinque Terre, you might find it more convenient to fly to Pisa International Airport - Galileo Galilei instead of Genoa Airport. Pisa Airport is conveniently located only 1 kilometre from Pisa Centre and has direct access to highways, motorways and railways.

Pisa Airport is directly connected to the Italian Railway Network.The railway terminal is located just outside the departure hall and is connected to Pisa Central Station by a direct train service. At the Airport, you can buy your railway ticket at the information office in the arrivals hall.

Pisa International Airport is located right next to a dual carriageway linking it to the Genova-Rosignano A12 motorway (Pisa Centro exit), and to road SS 1 "Aurelia" which is a scenic road that covers Liguria all the way to Ventimiglia. Traffic nearly always flows smoothly on the entire road network.

From Nice airport bus line 23 takes you to Nice St Augustin Railway Station. The stop for bus line 23 (Vallon des Fleurs) is located at Terminal 1, platform 6 at the Nice Airport. You can buy your ticket on the bus and it costs €1. From here you have to take the train to Ventimiglia then change for a fast or local train to your final destination. You can expect your journey from Nice to Genoa to take approximately 4 hours.
If you are renting a car from the airport note that the car hire company desks on the Arrivals level are open until 10pm and are located as follows:
Terminal 1: Gates A1/A2 to the right of the Information Desk.
Terminal 2: between gates A2 and A3.
